Danny Ainge: Celtics’ offseason is ‘not done’

Though the top free agents are off the market, Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics are still lurking in the shadows seeking trade opportunities.

“We’re not done,” Ainge said Thursday, via Brian Robb of Boston.com. “We have the same plans. If you don’t get what you want you have to keep fighting and make the best of it. Everybody wants Kevin Durant on your team and not everyone gets him.”

Despite adding Al Horford to the mix, there is a list of needs that Ainge would like to address.

“We need more shooting,” Ainge said. “We have some guys who are versatile and can play center and four. We can use a stronger center, and those are the two biggest things. Maybe another ballhandler as well.”

The Celtics are reportedly still eyeing the availability of two top trade targets. They may have missed out on Kevin Durant, but Ainge appears willing to turn his collection of young talent into a big-name acquisition. Of course, whether he can find something for a price he’s comfortable with is the real question.
