Darko Milicic is now a professional kickboxer

Professional basketball didn’t work out so well for Darko Milicic, but kickboxing might be a different story.

According to a report from NBA Serbia, Darko, who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 draft, is beginning a professional kickboxing career.

The report says Darko will have his first professional fight on Wednesday in Belgrade and that he’ll be fighting in the World Association of Kickboxing.

Darko entered the NBA when he was only 18 years old, so at 29, he’s still young enough to make it happen in combat sports. And given his literal killer mentality on the basketball court, perhaps a sport where he’s supposed to beat up opponents is a good thing.

We’re actually hoping all goes well for him here. What could be more fun than Darko kicking butt in kickboxing?
