Demand for LeBron James Lakers jerseys is off the charts
It won’t be long before purple and gold LeBron James jerseys are being spotted everywhere.
Even in the hours following James’s decision to join the Los Angeles Lakers, demand for his new jersey went through the roof, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.
Sporting goods retailer Fanatics reported a 600 percent jump in how James’s jersey sold in the first three hours after his signing was announced compared to when he made the same announcement in joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014. Overall, Fanatics had one of its top ten NBA sales days ever, driven largely by James preorders.
Interestingly, Cleveland was listed as one of the top markets for James jersey purchases, perhaps indicating that there are a lot fewer hard feelings over his departure this time around. There are other reasons to believe that’s the case as well.
