DeMarcus Cousins enjoying Kings’ new offensive system
DeMarcus Cousins has often been disgruntled with virtually everything about the Sacramento Kings, but perhaps the franchise has finally found a coach he can work with.
Cousins made is clear that he’s a big fan of the offense being instituted by new coach Dave Joerger, which involves him playing more in the high post to both score and facilitate.
“I love it. I love it. I love it,” Cousins said of the new offense, via Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee.
Cousins admitted that transitioning to the new offense is challenging, but he thinks it will be worth it.
“A lot of learning,” Cousins said Monday. “It’s a new system, of course, a lot of options, man. The offense is different. I think it’s a good look for our team. I think this will help this team get to the next level. So it’s about us getting the system down pat and getting these options, a lot of options.”
We know that Cousins really liked one of his coaches and really disliked others. If he doesn’t click with Joerger, it seems likely that the franchise will be forced to pick one or the other – or neither.
