Derrick Rose, friends cleared in rape trial
Derrick Rose was cleared in his rape trial, a jury announced on Wednesday.
Rose had been in a civil lawsuit trial brought by a woman who claimed Rose and two friends gang raped her in 2013. The trial lasted about two weeks, with the L.A. Superior Court jury deliberating on Wednesday. They delivered their verdict after deliberating for about three hours.
Rose and friends Randall Hampton and Ryan Allen were cleared of all charges. They were facing charges of trespassing, sexual battery and battery.
Rose being found not liable on all charges means he should be ready to rejoin the Knicks after missing most of the preseason. The Knicks open the season on Tuesday at the Cleveland Cavaliers.
