Derrick Rose pledges to push Carmelo Anthony ‘when he’s being lazy’
Derrick Rose believes he has a duty as a member of the New York Knicks: keep Carmelo Anthony focused.
Rose said Tuesday that the Knicks are still Anthony’s team. He’s here to help – and make sure he’s not slacking off.
“My job is to come here and help him win,” Rose said of Anthony, via Marc Berman of the New York Post. “This is his team. In practice I’ll push him and be on him when he’s being lazy and vice versa. There’s no bad blood. I’m just here to help him win.
“My job is to make his job easy. I’m not coming in for my stats. I don’t care about my stats. As long as we win, I can sleep easy at night.”
Rose is a confident guy. He’s a firm believer in the Knicks. He’s also a firm believer in Anthony and his ability to help him. It remains to be seen if the Knicks’ grand experiment will pay off.
