Dirk Nowitzki hears ‘old’ jokes during visit to senior center
During a recent visit to a rehabilitation center for senior citizens, Dirk Nowitzki was made to feel right at home.
The Mavericks made a trip to Lakewest Rehabilitation and Skilled Care in Dallas on Tuesday to spread a little holiday cheer to the residents. Perhaps not surprisingly, as one of the elder players in the NBA, Nowitzki heard a few jokes. One was from a teammate referencing the facility as Dirk’s house. Another was from a woman who wanted the 38-year-old to know his room is ready and waiting.
Dirk on Tuesday's visit to Lakewest, which is a rehabilitation center 4 the elderly: "One lady said, 'Hey Dirk, we got your room ready.' ''

After 19 seasons in the NBA, Nowitzki is at the point where old jokes are a regular occurrence. He’s even poked fun at himself over his lack of speed.
It used to be quick sand. Now it's full on dry cement…. https://t.co/QoG4yHjvET

Along with getting older comes recovering slower from injuries and Nowitzki has only been able to play in five games this season due to a sore Achilles. The future Hall of Famer even admitted he could retire after the season if he is unable to manage the pain. You can read his comments here.
