Draymond Green apologized to USA Basketball teammates for arrest

Draymond Green

Draymond Green’s abrasive personality is both blessing and curse. But in representing our country at this year’s Summer Olympic Games in Rio, Green will have to leave it at the door, and he understands that.

USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo said on Monday that Green has apologized to his Olympic teammates for his arrest in Michigan earlier this month, per Ben Golliver of Sports Illustrated.

Green was booked for assault after allegedly slapping Michigan State defensive back Jermaine Edmondson at a nightclub. The 26-year-old All-Star had reportedly been taunting Edmondson, who has since been granted his release from the football team, over scholarships.

With the Olympics set to begin in just a couple of weeks, USA Basketball cannot afford to let any distractions penetrate their bubble whatsoever. While this may not be the last we hear of the incident, it’s at least good to see that Green realizes that as well.
