Draymond Green challenges Charles Barkley to actually punch him

Draymond Green

If Charles Barkley wants someone to punch Draymond Green in the face, the Golden State Warriors star would rather Barkley just go ahead and do it himself.

During halftime of the Warriors’ Game 2 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night, TNT’s “Inside the NBA” played a clip that showed Green and Rajon Rondo face-to-face barking at each other. Barkley reacted to it by saying he wishes someone would punch Green in the face and that even he wants to sock him.

As you might expect, Green did not seem to appreciate it. When a reporter informed him about the commentary after the game, Green challenged Barkley to punch him the next time the two cross paths.

“If you feel that strongly about it then punch me in my face when you see me,” an irritated Green said. “If you’re not gonna punch me in my face when you see me then shut up. It’s no different than somebody sitting behind a computer screen tweeting, ‘Oh, I’ll knock you out.’ He’s seen me a bunch of times and he’ll see me again this year. Punch me in the face if you see me. … No one cares what you would have done. You’re old, and it is what it is.”

Green is known for getting into skirmishes with opponents on a regular basis, and Barkley is not the only one who finds him irritating. However, it’s safe to assume Barkley would never actually punch Green in the face. Green knows this, which is why he said what he did during his postgame media session.
