Marreese Speights: Draymond Green sometimes hurt Warriors off the court

Draymond-Green

The Golden State Warriors’ road to 73 wins was not without its speed bumps.

According to former Warriors center Marreese Speights, now with the Los Angeles Clippers, Draymond Green was, at times, the source of some serious chemistry problems during practices and behind closed doors.

“Draymond f—ed up practice and s—,” Speights told ESPN’s Ethan Sherwood Strauss. “Draymond’s a good guy, but I think at the end of the day, it hurt the whole chemistry of the year.”

According to Speights, Klay Thompson was a frequent target of Green’s motivational wrath, with Speights saying the two “got into it a lot.”

Strauss reported that on multiple occasions, Green had to be separated from teammates. Sometimes Green would get animated in huddles as well.

“Guys don’t respect you if you yell at them in front of all these fans,” Speights said. “We’re not trying to lose the game. F— .”

We already knew about this memorable Green rant. It sounds like it wasn’t exactly an isolated incident, and that some of Green’s teammates didn’t much appreciate it.
