Dwight Howard will have new uniform number with Hawks
The days of D12 are apparently coming to an end for Dwight Howard.
Howard appeared on Friday’s NBA TV broadcast of the Hawks’ summer league game and said he’d be switching away from the No. 12 he has worn his entire career, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Howard did not divulge what his new number would be, saying only that it would be biblical and deeply meaningful.
Howard appears fully committed to a fresh start in Atlanta. He recently admitted that he’s still angry over how last season went with Houston, and seems set on making it right. A motivated Howard could really help Atlanta, but he’ll have to show it on the court — apparently with a new number.
