Dwight Howard: Rockets need to be more like Warriors

Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard would like it if his team became more like the opponent it lost to Thursday night.

Then again, who wouldn’t want their team to be more like the Golden State Warriors?

After Houston fell to 16-18 on the year with a 114-110 loss to Golden State, Howard said the Rockets could learn something from the way the Warriors play and their unselfishness.

Many expected the Rockets to be a contender in the Western Conference this season, but they have been plagued by stretches of horrendous play. Thursday night’s loss was their third in a row. It’s interesting that Howard brought up ball movement, however, as Houston’s main problem at the moment seems to be defense.

The Rockets have allowed 110 or more points in each of their last three games. They’ve also scored over 100 in each of those contests, so they need to focus more on stopping opponents than they do on putting the ball in the basket.

Perhaps interim head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said it best with his recent criticism of the team.
