It looks like the Miami Heat players will be staying together for another run at an NBA title. Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem all reportedly opted out of their contracts Saturday. The expectation is that all three will sign longer-term deals for less money annually, thereby allowing the Heat to bring in more talent.

News of Wade opting out was reported by Tim Reynolds of the AP. Wade was due $42 million over the next two years. Opting out should allow him to sign a new contract for more guaranteed money even if it will be for less of an amount per year.

I wouldn’t even want Wade on the team taking up valuable cap space based on the way he played in the playoffs. Then again, I said the same thing about Manu Ginobili last year, and then he turned around and played great in 2014. I just think his injuries have taken away some of his greatest talents.

Bosh reportedly is seeking a 5-year deal for around $15 million annually after opting out of his contract.

Heat veteran Udonis Haslem also opted out of his contract, Ethan J. Skolnick reported Saturday. He had a player option for $4.6 million next season.

LeBron James has already opted out of his contract and will likely sign for less money so the team can bring in more talent.

Now Pat Riley needs to make good use of the extra money by going out and getting some talent to help LeBron.
