Emmanuel Mudiay refused to meet with Kings before draft
The Sacramento Kings passed on Emmanuel Mudiay in the NBA Draft on Thursday in large part because the point guard made it pretty clear he was not interested in playing for the team.
Team exec Vlade Divac said Thursday night that that Mudiay refused to meet with the team or work out for them prior to the draft.
Vlade Divac said Emmanuel Mudiay's refusal to workout or meet with Sacramento was a factor in not drafting him.

Sometimes players refuse to work out or meet with teams because they have already reached agreements with other teams that promise to draft them. In other cases, they simply do not want to play for certain coaches or franchises for whatever reason. And given the seeming dysfunction within the organization lately, we don’t blame him.
You know what’s interesting? We posted Thursday about another current player who told the Kings not to draft him. Guess it’s not a desirable destination for some, though many players who end up there love the team.
Mudiay ended up going to the Nuggets at No. 7 overall, the pick after the Kings took Willie Cauley-Stein.
