George Karl’s agent rips Kings, wants broadcaster reprimanded
George Karl remains the Sacramento Kings’ head coach despite reports saying the team was weighing whether or not they would fire him. Having reports in the media saying a team is considering firing you cannot be easy for a coach, so it’s no surprise that Karl’s agent is taking aim at the Kings for their handling of the matter.
In a comment shared by Yahoo’s Marc J. Spears, Karl’s agent Warren LeGarie ripped the Kings for interfering and not letting the coach do his job.

LeGarie continued to defend his client. He then took aim at former Kings point guard Bobby Jackson and criticized the announcer for saying on TV last week that Karl could be fired after the All-Star Break and it wouldn’t be a problem.
“It’s my opinion that he should be fired or suspended,” LeGarie told the OC Register regarding Jackson’s comments. “(There’s) no place for that in a legitimate organization.”
LeGarie is correct in saying that a broadcaster has a lot of sway with the audience and needs to be careful with comments criticizing a coach. Karl went 11-19 as a coach for part of last season and has the Kings 21-31 this season. He has a tough task in coaching this team as they have a lot of controversial players and a disorganized front office. Karl has also reportedly been undermined as the team’s coach.
