Isaiah Thomas ‘felt very disrespected’ by Kings

Isaiah Thomas KingsIsaiah Thomas is extremely happy to be with an organization that appreciates him rather than looks for an excuse to replace him.

Thomas was sent by the Sacramento Kings to the Phoenix Suns and signed a four-year, $27 million deal as part of a sign-and-trade this summer. Thomas said at his introductory press conference earlier this week that he liked being in Phoenix because they made him feel like he was wanted. Contrarily, the Kings were always bringing in new players to potentially replace him or making him available in trades. Thomas told The Arizona Republic that made him feel “very disrespected.”

“I felt very disrespected. Every year it was somebody new. I felt I did a good enough job to show them I was a starting point guard or a guy who could play a big role with their team. But they thought differently,” Thomas said via The Republic.

“They’re going to go forward without me, and I’m going to go forward with the Phoenix Suns, and I know something special is coming here.”

The 5-foot-9 point guard is now with a team that has a potent backcourt. In addition to Thomas, the Suns have Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe. They also drafted point guard Tyler Ennis 18th overall. There will be plenty of competition, but Thomas has proven that he can produce in the NBA. He will definitely be a big part of the mix for Phoenix.
