Jason Terry: My mission is to kill the Heat, the Lakers or both
Jason Terry is not only a great addition to the Celtics bench, he’s also a tremendous locker room presence. Since signing with Boston this offseason, Terry has tried to establish himself as a vocal leader and let it be known that he is ready to bleed green and buy into Doc Rivers’ system. He has also already sized up his enemies, the Heat and the Lakers.
“My mission is to kill; whether it’s the Heat, whether it’s the Lakers,” Terry said Tuesday according to CSNNE.com. “Hopefully both. That’s my mission, and that’s what I’m here to do.”
Terry, who got this tattoo to show how motivated he is to win a championship with Boston, may have to help the C’s do just that if they want to capture banner number 18. On paper, it makes sense that the Celtics and Heat could square off in the Eastern Conference finals and it’s easy to imagine the reloaded Lakers reining victorious in the West.
As we know, it’s not that simple. The Thunder and several other teams around the league will have something to say about it before all is said and done. The important thing for Rivers and the Celtics is that it sounds like Terry is all in. At age 35 and surrounded by aging superstars, you can tell Jet understands the urgency.
