Report: Jeff Hornacek interviews for Knicks’ head coaching job
Perhaps it’s time to put to rest the narrative that Phil Jackson is sitting at home in Montana idly twiddling his thumbs as the head coaching market passes him by.
According to a report by Marc Stein of ESPN on Monday, the Knicks have interviewed former Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek amongst a number of other previously mentioned candidates for their head coaching position.
The Knicks, league sources say, have interviewed Jeff Hornacek for their coaching job along with Kurt Rambis, David Blatt and Frank Vogel.

Hornacek, 53, had been linked to the Pacers earlier this month, but they chose to promote assistant coach Nate McMillan to lead duties instead.
Meanwhile, the Knicks, in an increasingly bewildering coaching search, have indeed sniffed around both Blatt and Vogel recently, but Rambis still (unfortunately) appears to be the frontrunner for the long-term gig.
For Hornacek, who holds a 101-112 (.474) career record as a head coach and was the Coach of the Year Award runner-up in the 2013-14 season, he has been known to run a more free-wheeling, up-tempo offense in his three seasons on the sidelines. The jury is still out on whether that style will mesh with Jackson, a systematic basketball thinker with a very well-known affinity for running the triangle offense at all costs.
