Butler missed time during the regular season due to a knee injury, so if there’s something wrong with his wrist, that would appear to be a new issue.
Minnesota grabbed the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a win over the Nuggets on the final night of the regular season. Their “reward” was a date with the top-seeded Rockets.
If the Timberwolves are going to upset the Rockets, they will likely need a big series from Butler. Having the wrap on his wrist could have just been a little gamesmanship on Butler’s part. Or, there could be discomfort that affects Butler’s play. It will surely be something worth watching as the series unfolds.
