John Wall in favor of Wizards becoming Bullets again
From 1963 to 1997, the team we now know as the Washington Wizards had a different nickname. They were the Baltimore Bullets, Capital Bullets, and finally the Washington Bullets before adopting their current name.
Over the past few years, fans have suggested the franchise go back to being the Bullets numerous times. At one point, team owner Ted Leonsis was reportedly open to the idea. But, given the decision to do away with the name was centered around its association with violence, it’s hard to see such a change happening.
Connotation aside, the Washington Bullets logo was a fairly popular one and has a fan in point guard John Wall. When speaking with Michael Lee of the Washington Post, the All-Star mentioned his fondness for the old logo compared to the current one.
John Wall on Bullets cap: “The Wizards logo is cool. I like all that, but I wish we could go back to these – I know we’re never going back."

Never say never, but it’s unlikely we’ll be referring to Washington’s basketball team as the Bullets for anything more than throwback purposes anytime soon.
