John Wall sets record straight on free throw comment
The Eastern Conference semifinals has gotten incredibly heated over the first three games, but John Wall didn’t say what many of you thought he said to a Boston Celtics player during Game 3 Thursday night.
Before one of his free throw attempts late in the third quarter of Washington’s blowout win, Wall pointed to his right and appeared to say “this is for you, (blank).” Speculation immediately began flying that he had called a Celtics player a bad word, but Wall put that to rest

John Wall would like the world to know he was pointing at Otto Porter, whom he calls "O." Sorry. https://t.co/BwJoXX5AnT

That makes a lot more sense.
It wouldn’t exactly be shocking to see name-calling in a game that featured one player getting ejected for body-checking another, but Wall was pointing toward the Wizards’ bench. The series features enough hostility already. There’s no need to create more.
