Karl-Anthony Towns wears Flip Saunders’ wedding band on his neck
Karl-Anthony Towns won over fans for the best showing at the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday.
Towns, the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, represented his Minnesota Timberwolves at the lottery. Around his neck he was wearing the wedding band of the late Flip Saunders:
Saunders died on Oct. 25, 2015 after losing his battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was the Timberwolves’ head coach in 2014-2015 and from ’95-’05.
Towns’ gesture was a pretty special one from a talented, up-and-coming player.
