Nuggets’ Kenneth Faried likes being mentioned in trade rumors

Some players dislike having their names pop up in trade rumors. The possibility of being traded makes them uneasy or can cause friction in their relationship with their teams. Kenneth Faried looks at these rumors differently.

The Denver Nuggets forward was a guest on Altitude 590’s “Kreckman and Harris” and talked about being involved in constant trade rumors.

“I actually like it,” Faried said, as transcribed by BSN Denver. “Honestly, before I used to hate it, because it’s like, ‘Wow, they want to trade me.’ But now I’m thinking, ‘Hey, I’m still being talked about, people still know my work in the NBA.’ And that’s respectful and humbling to me.

“I take it with a grain of salt and just keep grinding and just focus on the main prize and that’s our team winning and trying to make it to the playoffs and win a championship. So that’s been my main goal, and whatever I need to do, I’m just going to do on the court. If people talk about me in trades, that means I’m still worthy and people still respect my game and still want me to be on some team somewhere.”

Faried used to be mentioned in trade rumors more frequently when he was a little younger and viewed as having more potential. But he is a steady big who can score and rebound. The team’s addition of Paul Millsap also has potentially made him expendable, which means he will continue to come up in trade rumors.
