Kevin Durant banner torn down outside Thunder arena (Video)

Kevin-Durant-banner-torn-down

The Oklahoma City Thunder have no choice but to move on from Kevin Durant, both physically and emotionally. For most fans and even some players, the emotional part will take a while. But the physical part has already begun outside Chesapeake Energy Arena.

On Tuesday, the Thunder tore down the picture of Durant that was previously on display right between former teammates Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams.

If you’re a Thunder fan, it can’t get any more depressing than that. One month you have a 3-1 series lead in the Western Conference Finals and are just minutes away from a trip to the NBA Finals, and the next the face of your franchise has decided to join the team that ripped your hearts out.

To make matters worse, it sounds like the Thunder could end up losing the only star they have remaining on their roster in the near future. Even if all remnants of Durant’s tenure in OKC are removed by the end of the week, it’s going to take a lot longer than that for the wounds to heal.
