Kevin Durant thinks Pacers did poorly in Paul George trade

Paul George

It’s safe to say that Kevin Durant was one of those who came away unimpressed with what the Indiana Pacers got in the Paul George trade.

The Golden State Warriors forward appeared on a recent Bill Simmons Podcast, and in a partial transcript posted by The Ringer on Sunday, Durant made clear that the George trade surprised him for a few reasons.

“I think Paul George is so good,” Durant said when asked about the star forward being dealt to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant’s former team. “A lot of people disrespect him. Because I play against him and I respect my position.

“So that was shocking because Indiana just gave him away. And I ain’t think OKC would even think about giving up anything to trade for him. I didn’t think they would do it, but that was a ballsy move.”

George netted the Pacers a modest haul in Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis, and was widely panned at the time both my experts and even some rivals. Durant, it seems, agrees with the critics.
