Kevin Garnett says he likes ‘nothing about’ rebounding after setting milestone

March 7, 2012 by Steve DelVecchio • Comments

During the Celtics 97-92 overtime win over the Rockets on Tuesday night, Kevin Garnett reached a rebounding milestone. After grabbing 13 boards, Garnett now has 13,100 career rebounds and has moved into 12th on the all-time list, passing Shaquille O’Neal. And he enjoyed all 13,100 of them, right? Wrong.

“I like nothing about (rebounding),” Garnett said after the game according to Paul Flannery on Twitter. “It’s something I have to do, it’s something I’m decent at and something I know how to do.”

Garnett’s length has made him a tremendous rebounder throughout his career and a double-double machine. K.G. is also one of the most passionate players in the league, and was particularly driven when the Celtics assembled the Big Three. It would be difficult to argue that it doesn’t take a solid amount of toughness to be the 12th-best rebounder in NBA history, but there are a few people like Charles Oakley who would certainly give it a try. Regardless of how you feel about his attitude, K.G.’s Hall of Fame resume just got a little stronger.
