Kevin Love booed in return to Minnesota (Video)
Kevin Love returned to Minnesota for the first time since being traded to the Cavaliers over the summer, and the fans did not give him a warm greeting.
Though Love had some fans give him cheers, he received mostly boos during pregame introductions and when he touched the ball during the game.
Fans did cheer for him when a tribute video played during the first quarter. He actually had a positive attitude towards his reception.
“Truth be told I thought it was a pretty good reception,” Love said after the game. “It was nice to shake hands, give a lot of hugs to different people, smile …”
Love had 14 points and 17 rebounds in Cleveland’s 106-90 win. He said he was disappointed the team could not accomplish more while he was there, but he is happy about his new team’s current success.
“I enjoyed a lot of the people that I played with and met off the floor here, but it’s a little bitter because I wish things could’ve gone better and been better,” Love said before the game via the AP. “I’m in a situation now where we’re winning basketball, and I’m happy with that.”
Earlier this week, the T-Wolves marketing department also took a swipe at Love. He has been getting it from all angles.
