Report: Kings interested in Jabari Parker

Jabari Parker

After selecting Marvin Bagley in this year’s draft, the Sacramento Kings’ frontcourt reloading effort may be continuing.

James Ham of NBC Sports California reported this week that the Kings are interested in Milwaukee Bucks restricted free agent Jabari Parker, provided that the money is right. Ham also lists Orlando Magic unrestricted free agent Mario Hezonja as another player that Sacramento has confirmed interest in.

Parker, the 23-year-old forward, comes with an unusual blend of upside (averaging 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for his career) and risk (coming off two ACL tears in the last three-and-a-half years).

As for the Kings, they are rich in cap space this summer, and Parker could be a highly palatable option for them, especially since the injury concerns may depress his price on the free agent market. Rumors have also ran rampant in the last few months that he is unhappy in Milwaukee, so a change of scenery could definitely benefit the former No. 2 overall pick.
