Knicks’ Courtney Lee responds to being left off team promo

It’s safe to say that Courtney Lee feels a little slighted about being omitted from a recent New York Knicks promo.

The Knicks posted a graphic to Instagram on Friday promoting the release of their schedule for the 2018-19 season. The graphic featured several of their top players, but noticeably absent was Lee. The veteran guard proceeded to leave a comment on the post saying, “there I go” with a laughing face emoji.

The 32-year-old Lee, who is under contract for two more years, started 69 games for the Knicks last season and was their best three-point shooter at 40.6 percent. He may not quite be on the level of some of the core players on that graphic like Kristaps Porzingis, Frank Ntilikina, Tim Hardaway Jr, and Enes Kanter. But given that rookies Kevin Knox and Mitchell Robinson plus lesser contributors Emmanuel Mudiay and Lance Thomas made the promo as well, there’s at least a solid argument that Lee should have been on there too.

Lee also hinted at some unhappiness with the Knicks over the course of the previous season, so it’s anybody’s guess as to if there’s still a place for him in New York under new head coach David Fizdale.
