Report: Knicks have ‘the hots’ for Trae Young

Trae Young

Do the New York Knicks already have their minds on one of the NBA Draft’s top prospects?

According to Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer, the Knicks have “the hots” for Oklahoma guard Trae Young, who they would likely use as the primary ballhandler paired with Frank Ntilikina in the backcourt.

There is no guarantee that Young will still be on the board when the Knicks pick ninth, but the feeling is mutual, as Young’s father told the New York Daily News last week that his son would like to play in the Big Apple.

The Knicks interviewed Young last Friday, and apparently liked what they heard given the rumor.

Young was one of college basketball’s leading lights last season, particularly in the first half of the year. However, some scouts don’t see him as a sure thing. The Knicks clearly aren’t on board with that.
