Knicks arrive late to game because of traffic
The New York Knicks underestimated the traffic factor in the Bay Area ahead of Thursday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors.
The team’s second bus did not arrive at Oracle Arena until 45 minutes prior to game time, which is much later than usual. The team stays in San Francisco rather than Oakland, which are separated by a bridge. They underestimated the traffic on the way to the game, which was even worse due to rain which slows down drivers.
Knicks 2nd bus super delayed. Downpour plus Bay Area traffic = bad pregame combo/nice homecourt advantage for Warriors. So is traffic alone.

Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek didn’t even hold a pregame press conference because the team was so late.
Knicks so late due to rain/traffic Jeff Hornacek didn't hold a pregame press conference. Just got here. Teams stay in SF and don't plan.

They ended up getting a police car to help escort them to the arena after being so late:
The #Knicks, stuck in #BayArea traffic, took it to the #MUNI tracks. If they're late, they forfeit? https://t.co/JuAc0yQ96i. #DubNation pic.twitter.com/AKWX8ExHFF

It’s a good thing this happened to the Knicks rather than the Warriors, because you know Ayesha Curry doesn’t like being held on a bus any longer than she has to be.
