Kobe Bryant jabs Laura Ingraham in Oscar-winning speech

Kobe Oscar

Kobe Bryant took a swipe at FOX News host Laura Ingraham in his speech after winning an Oscar at the 90th Academy Awards on Sunday night.

Bryant’s “Dear Basketball” won in the category for Best Animated Short Film. After being handed his Oscar, he Bryant alluded to Ingraham’s infamous “shut up and dribble” comments.

“I mean, as basketball players, we’re really supposed to shut up and dribble. I’m glad we do a little bit more than that,” Bryant said.

In mid-February, Ingraham ripped LeBron James and Kevin Durant for their political comments, including some jabs at Donald Trump. She questioned James’ education and told the players “shut up and dribble,” which did not go over well with many athletes. A controversy ensued, and Ingraham eventually issued a clarification.

As Bryant proved, athletes can do a lot more than just dribble. And James certainly appreciated Bryant’s comment.
