Kristaps Porzingis says Knicks fans are better than Brooklyn fans
Kristaps Porzingis is gearing up for his first game against city rival Brooklyn on Friday, and he’s more than happy to give Nets fans a hard time in the leadup.
“Sometimes I see someone with a Brooklyn hat on, I say, ‘What is that? You need a Knicks hat,'” Porzingis said, via Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News. “I joke around with them. Sometimes I see them. Not as many as Knicks fans, though.”
Porzingis went on to relentlessly shade the Nets and their fans.
“I know our fans are better than Brooklyn’s fans,” Porzingis said.
“It will be a good game. Brooklyn, they’re struggling this season,” Porzingis added. “But they will try to win the rivalry as we want to win.”
While the Knicks/Nets rivalry isn’t exactly heated, Porzingis is trying to raise the temperature a bit. Knicks fans will no doubt love him even more for it.
