The video above is old and apparently was recorded in Nov. 2011 before Kyrie Irving ever played an NBA game, but for some reason it’s been recycled on the Internet over the past week and even played on SportsCenter. Even though the video is old, it’s new to me and funny, so it’s definitely deserving of a post.
Kyrie was doing some event — likely speaking at a school prior to his rookie season — when he got grilled by a young kid. The kid asked if Kyrie would leave the Cleveland Cavaliers the way LeBron James did, which made for a funny moment. I mean who expects a young boy to give you a hardball question like that?
But what was Kyrie going to say? Start his career in Cleveland by telling them he wanted out? Of course he had to say yes.
Sadly, people are going to replay this video when it’s time for Irving to make a decision about his future with the Cavs, but I wouldn’t hold it against him. I wouldn’t blame him if he chose to go to a more powerful team when he becomes a free agent.Google+
