Lakers fans chant for Paul George during game against Thunder
Magic Johnson may get fined for recruiting opposing players, but the same rule does not apply to Los Angeles Lakers fans, and they’re taking advantage of that fact.
During the Lakers’ game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night, Lakers fans could be heard chanting, “We want Paul!”

The chants were aimed at Thunder wing Paul George, who is from the Los Angeles area. When he was with Indiana, there were plenty of reports saying he wanted to sign with the Lakers when he became a free agent. However, the Thunder swooped in and acquired him in a trade a year early, and now it sounds like he wants to stay in OKC.
Despite being empowered by all the salary cap space the Lakers cleared prior to the trade deadline, the fans may end up being let down.
