Lakers have talked about signing Metta World Peace
Just when you almost completely forgot about Metta World Peace, a report emerges saying he is in consideration for being signed by an NBA team.
Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Lakers have talked about signing Metta to a one-year deal. Woj says the Artist Formerly Known as Artest has been training in the team’s practice facilities this summer, playing against some of the team’s players.
Kobe Bryant, who loves tough teammates who share his DGAF attitude, is said to support the move (shocker).
Metta, 35, brought truth to his name by taking his game global last season to China and Italy. He was released by the Lakers two summers ago and then released by the Knicks the following season. I almost completely forgot about him as a player, which says a lot about the Lakers’ depth at this point.
