Report: Lakers unlikely to draft or sign LiAngelo Ball despite workout
Though much was made of the Los Angeles Lakers holding a pre-draft workout for LiAngelo Ball, it doesn’t sound like that will lead to anything.
According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, there is “pessimism to the extreme” coming from the Lakers side of things that Ball is on the team’s radar. Stein reports that it’s unlikely that they’ll even pursue him as a G-Leaguer.
A dribble of draft scuttle for those interested: The Lakers had LiAngelo Ball in for a well-chronicled workout this week but there is pessimism in the extreme coming out of L.A. today that the Lakers have any intentions for him … G-League or otherwise

Ball has made no secret of the fact that he wants to play for the Lakers. The feeling does not appear mutual. The former UCLA player is likely going to wind up undrafted and will have to assess his options from there, though if it’s any consolation, other teams have worked him out.
