Report: Lamar Odom has been ‘entirely unresponsive’
Lamar Odom has been on life support for several days at a Las Vegas hospital, and his condition is reportedly not improving.
According to TMZ, Odom showed “absolutely no improvement” at the Sunrise medical center Thursday and doctors have given him a 50/50 chance of survival. Odom’s vital organs are still failing and he is unable to breathe on his own.
On Wednesday, Rev. Jesse Jackson visited Odom and said doctors expressed some optimism over the former NBA star showing signs of responsiveness. Shortly before Jackson spoke to reporters, Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reported that Odom had made some “small improvements” but was not out of the woods.
If Odom is able to pull through, the biggest concern would be his brain function. TMZ is reporting that doctors believe Odom’s brain function has been significantly reduced as a result of his overdose. A representative from Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch South told a 911 dispatcher that Odom had been seen using cocaine taking sexual enhancement pills in excess prior to being found unconscious. Unfortunately, the outlook becomes worse the longer Odom remains in a coma.
