Report: Lamar Odom’s family working hard to get him to go to rehab

Lamar-Odom

Lamar Odom walked out on his family’s attempt at an intervention last week, but that is not stopping those close to him from trying to convince the former NBA star to seek professional help.

According to a report from Extra, Odom’s family is searching for “additional options to present to him” that might convince him to go to rehab now that their intervention attempt failed. Odom’s cousin, Alvina Alston, is reportedly working with former MLB player Darryl Strawberry to find an in-patient care facility in the New York City area so Odom can stay close to his friends, family and children. The family is described as being “fully committed” to getting Odom to accept help.

As we learned previously, Odom’s family was trying to get him to go to a rehab facility in Florida that is run by Strawberry. Odom was supposedly surprised to see everyone confronting him on Friday night and responded by walking out.

A professional addiction and recovery specialist who was trying to help Odom’s family with the intervention believes there is one friend who is holding Odom back from getting the help he needs.

Earlier this month, Odom reportedly had to be removed from an airplane for a disturbing reason. He’s clearly at a very dangerous point in his life just eight months after he nearly lost his life to a drug overdose.
