LaVar Ball shares funny details of his curriculum for son LaMelo

LaVar Ball made the decision recently to pull his son LaMelo out of high school so he can homeschool and train the 16-year-old, and the elder Ball says the focus for education will be on two particular areas — math and English.

Why, you ask? As you probably could have guessed, LaVar wants LaMelo to be proficient in math because of how important money is to the Ball family. The reason for focusing on English is even more entertaining.

“Math and English are his stronger subjects so he can count his money and communicate when it’s not right,” LaVar Ball told TMZ over the weekend.

Classic.

A representative for the Ball family said LaMelo’s homeschooling program will consist of “private tutors while LaVar trains him (in basketball) for the next two years to get better and stronger.” LaVar previously said that leaving Chino Hills High School will help LaMelo focus more and limit distractions.

There have been some rumblings that there were issues with the new basketball coach at Chino Hills, and that may have played a role in LaVar’s decision. Either way, no one is surprised by the homeschooling idea and everything the Ball family has said about it.
