LeBron James after win: ‘We still need to clean things up’

LeBron James

The Cleveland Cavaliers won a nail-biter in Game 1 of their opening round playoff series against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, 109-108.

LeBron James was happy that his team got the win, and he was satisfied with the team’s effort and energy. But he believes the team still has some work to do.

James was asked by ABC’s Lisa Salters about the team’s defense and shared the following response.

“I think the effort and energy was there, but we still need to clean things up as far as Xs and Os. But the effort was there,” said James.

The team was a basket away from losing, so that’s why James was happy to get the win. Cleveland made it a point to deny Paul George the ball on Indiana’s final possession, instead settling for CJ Miles to be the one with the ball in his hands. He barely missed a shot off the rim to end the game.

Like James said after the game, it doesn’t matter how you win as long as you get the victory during the playoffs.
