LeBron James says he’s concerned about Johnny Manziel

LeBron James Johnny Manziel

LeBron James admitted that he’s concerned about his buddy Johnny Manziel.

Manziel continues to find himself dealing with high-profile off-field issues, and James is worried about him.

“I think it’s more concern for him individually,” James said Wednesday, via Cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon. “And I’m not quite sure, I don’t know all the details on it, I really kind of even haven’t been all up on it, but I’ve heard a little bit of it and it’s just a distraction for not only himself but for everyone that’s around him, including family, people that represent him, the people around him. And he’ll figure it out at some point, we all hope.”

Despite voicing his concern, James couldn’t help but make a bit of a joke about Manziel’s recent Vegas escapade.

“I don’t go to Vegas much, but when I do, I’m myself,” James said.

James and Manziel go back a ways. They share a management company and James’s business partner and friend Maverick Carter has mentored Manziel. Johnny Football needs all the help he can get. He’s facing a PR nightmare, his football career is in serious jeopardy, and most importantly, his life seems to be a mess at the moment.
