LeBron James asked if he will opt out of contract (Video)

LeBron James mediaLeBron James probably hasn’t processed that the Miami Heat lost in the NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs. He was likely so consumed with trying to win his third title that he wasn’t thinking about the future too much. But the Heat have a huge summer coming up, and the biggest question is whether he, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will opt out of their contracts.

LeBron was asked after Game 5 about his future plans and whether he will opt of his contract. He said he hadn’t thought about it and then offered some praise for his teammates.

“(I’m) Not disappointed in any of my teammates. Just wish we could have come through,” said James.

Many would figure James would be disappointed with his teammates, who really failed to show up in the Finals, but he says he wasn’t. Maybe that’s because this is his team, he’s their leader and they all worked so hard together that it’s hard for him to think about it breaking up.

Pat Riley has a big summer ahead of him and a lot of tough decisions to face. At least one thing is clear: he needs to surround LeBron with a lot more help.
