LeBron James skips podium after blowout loss, speaks at locker
LeBron James passed on the podium and chose to address the media in front of his locker following the Miami Heat’s 113-77 blowout loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday.
If this drill sounds familiar, it’s because LeBron and Dwyane Wade did the same thing after the Heat lost Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals to the Boston Celtics last year.
James still answered questions from reporters and gave some of them quotes to use for their stories, but he could have done more. There is a huge crowd of international media members waiting to ask questions in the media room after games. James didn’t allow them an opportunity to address him.
If LeBron doesn’t mind going to the podium after wins, then he should do the same thing after losses, regardless of circumstance. Little things like this just add to the perception that he is a frontrunner.
