LeBron James trolls Lonzo Ball over wearing Nike shoes
If LaVar Ball wants to build a sports apparel empire, he is going to need a lot of help from his son Lonzo. He didn’t get it on Wednesday night, and LeBron James took notice.
Rather than wearing his own Big Baller Brand sneaker, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball decided to wear some purple Nikes. LeBron, who was sitting courtside, shared a photo on Instagram:
James, who has a massive endorsement deal with Nike, captioned the photo “Just. Do. It.”
When asked about wearing the Nike shoes instead of his own Big Baller Brand ZO2s, Ball told reporters he wanted to embrace the “Mamba mentality” by wearing the Nike Kobe ADs. You could say he did just that, scoring a game-high 36 points to go along with 11 assists, eight rebounds, five steals and two blocked shots.
We have already heard about the shoe deals Ball turned down, so it’s surprising to see him rock anything other than Big Baller Brand apparel. Lonzo’s old man is probably nervous his son played that well while representing Nike.
