LeBron James says he’d take a pay cut to play with Anthony, Wade, and Paul

LeBron James Dwyane Wade

LeBron James has an ambition he’d like to achieve before his career ends: spend a year or two playing alongside Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Paul.

James told Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck about his little dream, and even said he’d take a pay cut to make it happen.

“I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together,” James said. “At least one, maybe one or two seasons – me, Melo, D-Wade, CP – we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that.”

James floated the possibility of it happening toward the end of everyone’s careers.

“It would be pretty cool,” James said. “I’ve definitely had thoughts about it. We’ll see.”

Logistics may make this more of a pipe dream than anything else. Wade seems unlikely to leave the Heat ever, and they all have different contract lengths and realities, and James likely wouldn’t be the only one taking a pay cut to make this happen. Moreover, James’s current teammates are probably a bit jealous of how much he talks about these superstars compared to how he handles things with them.
