Luka Doncic not guaranteeing move to NBA just yet
Luke Doncic is viewed as a potential No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, but that does not mean he is necessarily coming to the NBA for next season.
Doncic’s Real Madrid team is in the EuroLeague Final Four. He was asked whether these next two games will be his last in EuroLeague and expressed uncertainty about that possibility.
“Ι’m not sure if these are the last two games [in EuroLeague]. We have yet to make this decision. Perhaps after the season,” Doncic said, via EuroHoops.net.
This is an interesting situation. It’s unclear whether the 19-year-old is not talking about the NBA so that his focus remains on the EuroLeague, or because he’s legitimately considering a return to Real Madrid. Draft Express’ Jonathan Givony also floated the possibility that Doncic’s people could use that option as leverage to steer him to a specific team.
Here is Luka Doncic potentially planting the seed for what I talked about on the Woj podcast yesterday (https://t.co/313b9dvcSC). His representation has some very unique leverage to steer him to a specific destination, or even nudge a trade along, should they choose. https://t.co/K3FVw5EdRG

Doncic has averaged 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists this season. There is heavy speculation that the Phoenix Suns have been gearing up to take him with the first overall pick.
