Mallory Edens wants to buy Knicks one day

Mallory Edens Bucks pin

Mallory Edens, the daughter of Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Wes Edens, hopes to own a basketball team herself one day. The easiest route to accomplishing that goal would probably be to inherit the team her dad owns, but Mallory is aiming a bit higher.

In a brief chat with TMZ over the weekend, Mallory Edens spoke about how few women there are in prominent roles in American professional sports. When asked if she hopes to help change that, Edens revealed that she wants to own the New York Knicks.

“I want to buy the Knicks one day,” she said. “We’ll see how that works out.”

When asked if she plans on pursuing a swapping of franchises between her father and Knicks owner James Dolan, Edens joked that she wants to do her own thing instead.

“No, I don’t need to swap,” she said with a laugh. “My dad can keep the Bucks. I’ll take the Knicks and I’ll see him in the Eastern Conference Finals.”

Knicks fans would probably welcome Edens as their new owner, even right now. Anything would have to be better than James Dolan, right?

Edens is a huge basketball fan and really knows her NBA, so no one should rule out her owning an NBA team one day. We also know she is infatuated by one star player on the Knicks, so that could factor into her desire to run the multibillion dollar franchise.
