Marcus Smart reportedly feels ‘insulted’ by Celtics

Marcus Smart’s relationship with the Boston Celtics continues to deteriorate by the day, it seems.

Jordan Schultz of Yahoo! Sports reported on Wednesday that the restricted free agent guard has been unresponsive in the Celtics’ efforts to reach out because he feels “insulted” by what he sees as a lack of respect by the front office. Schultz also says that Smart has begun to generate sign-and-trade interest from multiple outside teams.

This report is consistent with what we have heard in recent days that the 24-year-old supposedly feels hurt and disgusted by the lack of communication this summer from the Celtics and from GM Danny Ainge in particular.

We also know of another team that may be extending an offer sheet to Smart, so it sounds like the Celtics have some major fences to mend here if they want to keep their former No. 6 overall pick in Boston.
