Mark Cuban congratulates Rockets, admits he was wrong about them
Mark Cuban did the unthinkable Sunday and actually ate some humble pie by admitting he was wrong and congratulating one of his rivals.
Early in April, Cuban disparaged the Houston Rockets with some comments to Grantland. He called them “predictable” and said they were “not a very good team” aside from James Harden.
Fast forward six weeks later and the Mavericks were at home after losing to the Rockets in five games in the first round of the playoffs, while the Rockets had come back to beat the Clippers in seven games to advance to the Western Conference finals.
That led the Mavericks owner to send a congratulatory tweet to Rockets GM Daryl Morey, who responded.
@mcuban thank you Mark, as you know we have a long way to go because you have done it

That was a nice exchange between the two sides. Cuban probably thought he had weakened the Rockets by signing Chandler Parsons (in a nightclub of all places), but he was wrong. The Rockets are much better than he thought. Maybe he was blinded by the competitive rivalry, but I’m not sure what took him so long to see it.
